Born in 1949, ISSA began his artistry during childhood. His earliest efforts experimented with various media, including sculpture through the family trade of carpentry.
As a painter, his primary sources of inspiration are in nature. ISSA’s interpretations are conveyed through his styles of fine art painting, which include modern abstract art, interior genre art and still lifes, cubist portraiture, and impressionist-inspired landscapes. The artist uses mixed media, such as oil and acrylic on canvas.
As a young man, ISSA emigrated from Syria to Paris, where he held successful exhibitions and was published by fine art magazines of the day. He arrived to the United States in 1973, where he has continued creating art ever since.
